The members of the oandp.com Content Advisory Board represent a broad spectrum of interests and knowledge in Orthotics and Prosthetics and related professions. We thank them for their continued input, which helps ensure that oandp.com continues to serve the profession in the best way possible. John N. Billock, CPO - Mr. Billock has over 36 years of experience in the O&P profession. He is a charter member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, and is the only person to serve as the President of the organization on two separate occasions. He is currently Clinical and Executive Director of the Orthotics and Prosthetics Rehabilitation Engineering Centre, Inc., in Warren, Ohio.

John H. Bowker, MD - Dr. Bowker is Professor Emeritus of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Miami School of Medicine, Miami, Florida. During an academic career spanning thirty-seven years he has been involved in every aspect of amputee care, including prevention, improvement of surgical techniques, long-term follow-up, education and advocacy.

Dudley S. Childress, PhD - Dr. Childress is Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago and Professor of Biomedical Engineering in the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science in Evanston, Illinois. He directs the Prosthetics Research Laboratory and the Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center in Prosthetics and Orthotics and serves as Executive Director of the Prosthetics & Orthotics Education Program, all at Northwestern. His current interests include the design and development of artificial hands and arms, human ambulation, and assisted-ambulation mechanisms.

Susan L. Kapp, CPO - Ms. Kapp is an assistant professor and the director of the Prosthetics-Orthotics Program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She is the secretary/treasurer of the Texas Chapter of the Academy and a member of the Academy's Research & Development Committee. Ms. Kapp is past chair of NAPOE, serves on the US-ISPO board and served five years as an NCOPE commissioner.

Charles Levy, MD - Dr. Levy is the System Chief of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service, North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida. He has a long-standing interest in the Internet and organized a cyber-conference in 1998 using live streaming video.

Brendan McHugh, BEng, PhD, CEng, MIMechE, FISPO - Dr. McHugh is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland and honorary secretary of ISPO. His involvement with ISPO includes previous positions as Chairman of the ISPO UK Scientific Sub-Committee and Vice-Chairman of ISPO UK. He has been involved with many O&P conferences around the world, as a member of the steering committee, as the editor of reports, and as a lecturer.

John W. Michael, MEd, CPO, FISPO, FAAOP - Mr. Michael is an experienced clinician whose numerous lectures and publications have earned the respect of colleagues around the world. He is a past President of the Academy, Chair Emeritus of US-ISPO, and a Fellow of both organizations. He has worked in a variety of private sector clinical, educational, and research settings over the past 25 years and is currently the President of CPO Services, Inc.

Mary P. Novotny - Mary Novotny is a nurse, educator and consultant who has dedicated the majority of her life to working with and for persons with disabilities. A survivor of childhood cancer, Mary became an amputee in her early teens after which she earned a Bachelor's degree in nursing. She is married and has two children in her hometown of Chicago. It was there she founded Families & Amputees In Motion (FAIM), a support group while working in clinical orthopedics.

Christina Skoski, MD - Dr. Skoski is a Clinical Anesthesiologist, in private practice in Southern California. She became a hemipelvectomy amputee in 1962 due to cancer while a student in High School, and is now a professional advisor as well as a member of the Amputee Coalition of America. Recognizing the importance of the Internet and drawing on over 30 years of personal experience, she created a non-profit web site specifically devoted to the high pelvic level of amputation, hemipelvectomy and hip-disarticulation, HPHDHELP.ORG.

Vikki Stefans, M.D., M.S. - Dr. Stefans is an associate professor at the University Of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Pediatrics and PM&R Department, Developmental Pediatrics Division. She is also Service Chief at ACH Pediatric PM&R and Medical Director for the Progressive Rehabilitation Unit at Habilitation and ACH MDA Clinics. Much of her research lies in the area of orthotics and prosthetics.

Peter W. Thomas, Esquire - Mr. Thomas is a principal in the Washington D.C. law firm of Powers, Pyles, Sutter & Verville, P.C. He has a federal law and legislative practice in the areas of health care and disability policy, managed care, Medicare coverage and reimbursement policy, and rehabilitation research appropriations. He recently served on the President's Advisory Commission on Consumer Protection and Quality in the Health Care Industry where he chaired the Subcommittee on Consumer Rights, Protections and Responsibilities, the Subcommittee that developed the Patient's Bill of Rights. Mr. Thomas has played a key role in representing the interests of the O&P profession and consumers through his role as general counsel of the National Association for the Advancement of Orthotics and Prosthetics.

Jerry White - Mr. White is co-founder and Director of the Landmine Survivors Network, a worldwide organization that helps landmine victims and helps prevent future accidents. He himself is an amputee, losing his right leg when he stepped on a mine in Israel in 1984 while hiking with friends.
