The Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) announced that family dining restaurant chain Denny's has contributed $15,000 to the ACA's annual Youth Camp. The camp, located in Warm Springs, Georgia, provides young people with limb differences between the ages of 10 and 16, a wide range of physical activities, team-building exercises, and opportunities to learn from peers and adult amputee mentors.
"Denny's contribution helps us offer children with limb loss and limb difference a really unique camping experience that focuses on leadership development, nutrition education, and physical fitness, improving self-esteem, creating positive social interaction, developing peer support, and, of course, having a great time," said Paddy Rossbach, president and CEO of the Amputee Coalition of America.
In presenting the donation to the ACA, Debbie Atkins, Denny's director of public relations said, "We are very excited to be able to help the ACA reach more young people through its Youth Camp. We know that this special experience will have a lasting and positive impact on their lives."
Other sponsors of the ACA Youth Camp include Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, Georgia; Blaze Sports, Atlanta, Georgia; Otto Bock HealthCare, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Ohio Willow Wood, Mt. Sterling, Ohio; the Orthotics & Prosthetics Assistance Fund (OPAF); and hundreds of individual contributors.
