US Paralympian and comedian Josh Blue, Denver, Colorado, was chosen the winner of NBC's Last Comic Standing on the show's season finale August 9, earning himself an exclusive NBC talent contract, a stand-up comedy special with cable network Bravo, and, of course, the title of Last Comic Standing. Blue, a member of the 2004 US Paralympic Soccer Team, was one of 12 comics selected to compete in the NBC reality series. In the live 90-minute final episode, Blue was announced the winner over comedian Ty Barnett, based on the total number of viewers' votes.
Blue, who was born with cerebral palsy, began playing soccer in the backyard with the family when he was just ten years old. He went on to play collegiate soccer at Evergreen State College, Olympia, Washington, where he also served as captain of the indoor team. Shortly thereafter, Blue went on to make the US Paralympics Soccer Team in 2001, and he qualified for the 2004 US Paralympic Soccer Team that competed at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece. He is currently a member of the 2006 US Paralympics Soccer National Team.
