The Orthotic & Prosthetic Assistance Fund Inc. (OPAF) recently awarded a grant to the Colorado Springs Sled Hockey Association (CSSHA), in Colorado. The grant funds represent the cost of one hockey sled for the organization. This is the first grant awarded to CSSHA by OPAF and the first grant awarded by OPAF since 2004.
CSSHA is open to disabled persons ages 5 and up who want to have fun and learn the game of ice hockey. CHSSA is a growing program and hopes to increase to 20 players.
"The OPAF Board of Directors felt that with the help of these grant monies, OPAF would make an immediate and measurable impact on this population," OPAF Executive Director Robin Burton said.
