How Times Flies....

By Tonja Randolph

This month, The O&P EDGE celebrates its fifth anniversary. It seems like such a short time ago that a small group of friends with experience in the O&P field and in publishing came together with what we felt was a unique vision for a publication. We launched The O&P EDGE on a shoestring with the first full-fledged issue being published in May 2002.

Without you—our readers and advertisers—we would not have reached this five-year milestone. We want to take this anniversary occasion to say from our hearts, "Thank you!"

It has always been a dream of mine to have my own company. Throughout the last five years, our publication has grown as we carry our vision forward. I appreciate my mentors, who helped me gain the necessary knowledge and experience, and my business partners who, with our shared vision, helped launch The O&P EDGE, the new kid on the block.

It took drive and determination, plus a great team, to help reach success. Today our team includes Miki Fairley, Karen Henry, Marti Randolph, Maureen Masucci, Diane Colgan, and Jodi Mills. We wouldn't be where we are today without the contributions of past team members Judy Hettinga, Meredy DeBorde, Rachel Monserrate, and Tina Eichner. Although they have moved on to other endeavors, all are appreciated for their part in helping us reach success. We also couldn't do it without the help and support of the great team at oandp.com and the wonderful articles written by our freelance writers and contributors.

Our vision has been to bring you vital, cutting-edge information in clinical, research, and business areas, plus inspiring stories about amputees and orthosis wearers to share with your patients. I hope you feel that The O&P EDGE has brought you better ways to run your business, the latest in clinical, technological, and research news to keep you abreast of current developments in patient care, as well as other valuable tools.

You—our readers and advertisers—are also part of our team. We are always happy to hear what you like, what you don't like, and what you want to see in The O&P EDGE, so we can better serve you.

There is no other place we would rather be. We love this industry, the people, and the magazine. We hope you do too!
