Documentary Highlights Adaptive Skiing

Colorado resident Marc Romero is hoping to shine a brighter light on top-level adaptive skiing with an hour-long documentary, Heroes of the Slopes, created by Romero and Tim Nixon.

"When I was a racer I started to go into the bumps and powder," Romero, a former member of the U.S. Disabled Ski Team, told Leslie Brefeld of the Summit Daily News. "I started experimenting while also racing. It helped me to think about all the stories outside of groomers or races."

The documentary has appeared on PBS, but Romero is looking for distribution. He has found interest in schools, along with the adaptive sports circuit, and hopes it will find an audience for pure entertainment.
