Cameron Clapp Appears in 'Stop-Loss'Over the past few years, trilateral amputee Cameron Clapp has
appeared on the television comedy "My Name Is Earl," and the Emmy
award-winning HBO original series "Carnivale." Now, Clapp makes his
big screen debut in the wartime drama Stop-Loss, according to
Hanger Orthopedic Group.
From Boys Don't Cry director Kimberly Pierce, Stop-Loss follows
a decorated Iraq war hero (played by Ryan Phillippe) through his
celebrated homecoming, his adjustment into civilian life, and his
unexpected call back to duty in Iraq by the Army. In the film,
Clapp plays a young United States veteran who lost his legs and an
arm in the war. In Clapp's scene, he is shooting pool and having a
conversation with actress Abbie Cornish. He has a few lines and all
of his prosthetic limbs are in full view. There is even a close up
of him using his body-powered upper-extremity prosthesis to line up
and make a shot.
Clapp has been featured in numerous national and international
news programs and publications, including "The TODAY Show," "CBS
Early Show," The New York Times, The San Luis Obispo
Times, the "Tyra Banks Show," Discovery Channel's "Medical
Incredible" and "Science of Star Wars," and a Swedish documentary
called 45 Minutes.
