New Student Organization at EMU

The students in the orthotic and prosthetic programs at Eastern Michigan University (EMU), Ypsilanti, have formed the Organization of Orthotic and Prosthetic Students (OOPS). The official student organization is currently involved with the Ghana Medical Rehabilitation Group (GMRG), a Michigan-based group of Ghana expatriates and rehabilitation professionals who are committed to building a national rehab program in Ghana.

"The purpose of OOPS is to increase the communication between O&P students. This in turn builds relationships between future practitioners that ultimately benefits patients," said OOPS President Jake Lindquist. "We also hope to help educate the community about O&P and the issues that patients and clinicians face."
