In Memoriam: David OsborneDavid Osborne, CPO, passed away on August 20, 2008, after a long
battle with cancer. On the Sympathy Tree website, his wife, Angie
wrote, "David loved everything about life. He loved boating,
fishing, golfing, duck hunting, skiing, drinking good wine, and
laughing with those he loved. Mostly he just loved being."
The 42-year-old husband and father was born in Tacoma,
Washington. He attended the University of Puget Sound, and then
graduated from the University of Washington's prosthetic and
orthotic program in 1987. He went on to co-own Northwest
Prosthetics & Orthotics Associates (NWPO Associates), which was
acquired by Hanger Orthopedic Group, Bethesda, Maryland, in 2003.
According to Hanger, he was promoted to market leader of the Rocky
Mountain market in December 2005. "Under his leadership, numerous
Rocky Mountain patient care centers earned the prestigious Hanger
Excellence Award for superior clinical care, reliable customer
service, and outstanding operating results," Hanger stated. Rick
Taylor, president and COO of Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics
Inc., called Osborne "a great leader, an excellent businessman, and
a good friend who inspired many and will be sorely missed by all
who knew him."
Osborne is survived by his wife, Angie, and two daughters, Malia
and Kelsey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial
contributions be made to The Campaign for St. Anthony's Hospital in
Memory of David Osborne. Donations may be sent to: Franciscan
Foundation, In Memory of David Osborne, PO Box 1502, Tacoma,
