DLRC Honors Ossur

April Holmes presents Tim McCarthy with the Charles D. Siegal President's Award |

The Disability Rights Legal Center (DRLC), Los
Angeles, California, an advocacy group for the civil rights of
people with disabilities, has given Ossur, Reykjavik, Iceland, its
Charles D. Siegal President's Award.
Tim McCarthy, vice president of prosthetics for Ossur Americas,
Aliso Viejo, California, accepted the award on November 20 before
500 local and national leaders in the legal, entertainment, and
other industries at the DRLC's Annual Gala in downtown Los
Angeles.
There to present the award was Ossur-sponsored athlete April
Holmes, world record holder (women's T44 classification) in the
100m, 200m, and 400m sprints, and 2008 Paralympic gold medal winner
in the 100m.
Paula Pearlman, Esq, DRLC executive director, said "The Siegal
Award recognizes the extraordinary contributions that Ossur and its
inventors have made to the world community." She added, "Ossur's
manufacture of prosthetics and bionics, [which] have effectively
revolutionized the way people with mobility disabilities experience
the world, reinforces our organization's values of inclusion and
equality. In addition, Ossur's inventors' vision and limitless
expectations parallel our organization's motto, 'Protecting the
Possibilities.'"
