Messer Orthopedics Hires

Messer Orthopedics, Grand Rapids, Michigan, has hired Gerald Lunsford, CO, as its director of orthotics. Lunsford graduated from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, with a bachelor of science degree in 1992 and went on to the Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center (NUPOC), Chicago, Illinois, where he completed his certification in orthotics in 1996. He received his ABC certification in 1998 and worked in the Chicago metropolitan area for six years, concentrating in wound management and pediatrics. In 2002, Lunsford moved to southwest Michigan, where he directed the orthotics and prosthetics clinic department at Hackley Hospital, Muskegon. There, he practiced all aspects of orthotic management, from trauma to acute and chronic conditions. He is described by Messer as passionate about positive outcomes and patient satisfaction, getting "the most joy in seeing his patients achieve their maximum potential and becoming more independent."
