Conferences and Inservices
St. Ambrose University physical therapy students attend weekly clinical visits to AmPro's Davenport office.

In January, Todd Schweizer, CO, and prosthetic intern Christian Bailey traveled to MMSC Rehabilitation Center's physical therapy department to present an inservice on foot orthotics. The pair, who practice at the Des Moines clinic, also delivered an introduction to orthotics and prosthetics to the Physical Therapy Club at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in February.

American Prosthetics & Orthotics presented a continuing education seminar on behalf of its professional staff last October at the Holiday Inn in Iowa City. Orthotic treatment of spinal irregularities and nonsurgical approaches to clubfoot were the focus, with presentations by Thomas Gavin, CO; Donald Shurr, CPO, PT; and Ignacio Ponseti, MD. Public relations specialist Patty Johnson discussed the importance of communication with referral sources and effective marketing strategies. John Kamp, CPO and Branch Manager at AmPro's Davenport office, organized and produced the inservice in his capacity as the firm's director of continuing education.

Congratulations!
... to physical therapist Jane Brown, who opened her own practice in Creston after working at Greater Community Hospital for 25 years. Rod Cheney, CPO, and Steve Perrin, CO, of AmPro's Clive office attended her open house in February.
