Los Textos en Espana

Una de las habilidades más importantes para cualquier practicante es dominar y comprender los principios fundamentales que guían la práctica protésica y ortésica. Los Servicios CPO están muy complacidos de poder enviar versiones electrónicas de dos textos en idioma Español, con el amable permiso de Sydney Fishman, PhD., quien encabezó por muchos años el programa de P y O en la Universidad de Nueva York.

El Dr. Fishman generosamente ha permitido el envío de los textos completos en idioma Español sobre Ortésis y Prótesis de la Extremidad Inferior, donde ellos puedan ser leídos, descargados, o impresos sin ningún cargo - para educar protesistas de habla Española, ortesistas, y otros miembros del equipo de rehabilitación con un interés en nuestro campo. Los Servicios CPO ha donado los costos de convertir estos textos dentro del formato PDF, y cada mes se enviará una nueva sección de cada texto.

Durante el período que NYU, UCLA, y NWU ofrecieron los muy populares cursos cortos de grado superior en prótesis y ortésis dentro de los Estados Unidos, la Universidad de Nueva York fue invitada para ofrecer un número de cursos similares en Europa y Asia. De estos, los más extensos se celebraron en Finlandia, Israel, India, Portugal, y España. Fueron los cursos en España, en Prótesis de la Extremidad Inferior, los que estimularon la excelente traducción del texto de la Universidad de Nueva York, dentro de España, a través de los generosos esfuerzos voluntarios del Dr. Pedro Prim de Madrid.

Estas traducciones también sirvieron como el texto del programa universitario a largo plazo en prótesis y ortésis de la Fundación Mundial de Rehabilitación, dentro de la República Dominicana, así como en otros centros. Aunque estos textos traducidos no han sido actualizados, los principios y prácticas fundamentales descritos son todavía relevantes y ofrecen una base fundamental para practicantes interesados, quienes después pueden aplicar estos conceptos básicos utilizando los materiales y componentes disponibles localmente.

Nosotros esperamos que el envío de estos textos ayudarán a los colegas a través del mundo, quienes desean avanzar en sus conocimientos clínicos.
