Cool, Low-Cost Laser Alignment Tool
You have undoubtedly noticed the growing number of laser alignment devices now available for prosthetic and orthotic applications. Due to the huge quantities used in the construction business, prices for tools intended for that industry have been dropping. A few months ago, I attended a meeting with John Stonecipher CPO and admired a laser tool he was using that measured angles as well as projected a very clearly visible vertical laser line.
In fact, I liked that doodad so much, I bought it from John on the spot and added it to my portable tool case. Since I do primarily out of state fittings, it is very useful to have a "visible plumb bob" so the patient and local practitioner can readily "see" the alignment I am proposing.
I recently found a source for this item on the net, and the price is under $100 including shipping! I have ordered other laser products from this company in Wisconsin and was very pleased with the service and the quality of the items.
