Web Based Technical Information
Many P&O manufacturers use the majority of their web space to post self-serving marketing information. Although there is nothing wrong with this, such material doesn't have sufficient clinical value to attract today's incredibly busy clinician to spend much time online.
VASI recently posted a very useful page demonstrating graphically how to interface various manufacturer's components to create a transradial prosthesis. You can check it out for yourself at: www.vasi.on.ca/prosthetic/systems/system.htm.
Manufacturers and distributors are generally quite willing to add more clinically relevant material to their web sites if they are certain that it will draw customer traffic. If you find current content valuable, or if you have ideas for posting different information, send an email with your viewpoints. Over time, such clinician feedback can shape the web into a more useful clinical tool.
