Welcome to the intersection of orthotics and prosthetics in cyberspace!
This month's Corner begins by featuring some very intriguing video clips of the world's first "C-Leg KAFO" and continues by highlighting some tidbits of interest from the recent Canadian Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists' meeting in Alberta. It also includes commentary on the Amputee Mobility Predictor© developed by Bob Gailey PhD, PT and his associates.
Additional chapters from the Spanish language textbook on Prosthetics are also available for downloading. The entire text on Orthoses has now been posted and remains available for downloading as well.
Thanks to the generosity of Sr. Alberto Castillo from Mexico City, the articles in this Corner will now be available in Spanish too. A
brief biography
is posted, listing just a few of Sr. Castillo's many accomplishments. Additional chapters from the texts on lower limb prosthetics and orthotics that have been translated into Spanish are also available for downloading.

This month's Corner includes the next installment of uploads of chapters from the entire Spanish language texts on Lower Limb Orthoses and Lower Limb Prostheses, for downloading or printing. CPO Services is very pleased to be able to post electronic versions of texts used in the former WHO school in the Dominican Republic, with the kind permission of Sidney Fishman, PhD.

Ivan's point was to generate just the sort of speculation that you have offered, and you are correct in commenting that a stance control orthosis must be more than just a prosthetic joint grafted onto a KAFO. Ivan just wanted to investigat... read more
