Chris Draayer aka the "Stormin' Mormon" is a transhumeral amputee who bills himself as the "Worlds Fastest One-Armed Motorcyclist". He lost his left arm in 1967, and although that ended his career as a Factory Harley-Davidson team racer, he refused to stop riding his bike. There are many articles on the web about Chris Draayer. Engineers from the University of Monash in Melbourne have posted photos of a unique terminal device design intended to make it easier to handle a train control handle at www.monash.edu.au. Prior to the advent of the Internet, most of these one-off designs lapsed into obscurity almost immediately. Now, rehabilitation specialists worldwide can contact the producers of such "micro-niche" products, and offer these options to many more amputees.
