New Upper Limb Prosthetic CD from TRS

Bob Radocy from TRS, Inc. has just completed a new educational CD titled "Body Power". It is an excellent introduction to the range of terminal devices available from TRS, and includes a large number of digital video clips and stills. Every clinician with an interest in upper limb prostheses will want a copy of this production. Contact information so you can request a copy is posted at www.oandp.com//products/trs/.

Bob has also posted a nice set of digital slides that can be downloaded at www.oandp.com/trs/slidelib.asp and full technical manuals as PDF files at www.oandp.com/products/trs/prod_man.htm. He also has several good videotapes available for those who prefer that learning medium.

In addition to the clips of terminal devices and how they are used for daily tasks and recreational activities, the "Body Power" CD also has a very useful segment on harnessing emphasizing how to insure that transradial amputees can readily control voluntary closing terminal devices. Bob has been a strong proponent of individualized harnessing, and his tips on optimizing amputee control have proven to be very sound clinically. His concept of modifying the Figure of Nine harness so the amputee can use elbow flexion to supplement the traditional shoulder control movements really makes the use of voluntary closing terminal devices much more effective.

With Bob's permission, a brief clip from the CD is available for downloading. View Movie
