This Corner inaugurates an ongoing series of articles looking at the controversies surrounding the Ertl amputation. It also discusses some of the complications that a fused knee following transtibial amputation can present, and offers a case example of an unusual "four bar peg leg" to manage such a challenge. It concludes with a short summary from an excellent recent article about post-operative management of transtibial amputations.
All chapters from the Spanish language textbooks on Lower Limb Prosthetics and Orthotics have been posted, and remain available for downloading, along with the classic text from UCLA on Upper Limb Prostheses.
