Amazing Shure Earphones with High Performance Drivers

My regular ear buds finally stopped working last month, after nearly fifteen years of faithful service on countless workout sessions. By coincidence, I found myself wandering the Minneapolis airport with a couple of hours between flight connections when I spotted a new display at one of those "Rent a DVD and Player" kiosks that are becoming more common at airport venues. They were featuring Shure earphones, and had disposable covers so potential customers could try the various models.

Although I had no intention of buying pricy phones from an airport shop, the quality of the sound literally blew me away. I had just purchased a 256k USB drive-MP3 player earlier that day and had loaded a few of my favorite blues tracks. The clarity of the bass, midrange, and treble sound that came through the Shure phones from that cheap little player was astonishing. For the first time, I could make out each individual instrument: drum, cymbals, bass, guitar, and piano licks were all crystal clear. The bass was solid without booming or sounding muddy. Overall, the sound was nearly as good as an expensive set of surround sound speakers - and much less expensive at $99.

The Shure phones fit deep into the ear canal and channel the amazingly high fidelity sound directly to the ear drums.

To make a long story short, I bought a set of Shure E2c earphones on the spot. The silicone plugs seal out much of the ambient noise, so you can listen to the music at a much lower volume. Especially on a long airplane ride, lower volume means you don't have a headache by the time you land. These phones have made my travels and workout sessions much more enjoyable than ever before.

The technology is based on the custom earphones Shure originally developed to allow professional musicians to hear their own performance in loud onstage environments. These consumer versions come with 6 different sizes and shapes of standard ear plugs, so you can find the one that works best for your ear canal shape. The high performance drivers deliver the sound directly into the ear canal from a CD, MP3, or DVD player.

For more information, go to www.shure.com. You can order online, or from a variety of distributors around the country. If possible, audition a set before you buy. I think you'll be amazed at how good music sounds through these phones.

Re: The pelvic leveler
Dear Sr. Videla- It is certainly possible that a "sitting socket" would help you maintain a comfortable posture and reduce your back pain. It would be useful if you can determine, by experimentation, the posture that you find most comfort... read more
