John Michael's Corner Welcome to the intersection of orthotics and prosthetics in cyberspace!
This Corner highlights several articles from a recent issue of the Journal of Rehabilitation Research & Development that are particularly relevant to clinical prosthetic, and by implication, orthotic practice. The caliber of articles in the JRRD has been steadily improving in recent years, and it is heartening to see such a large proportion of published research that addresses important clinical questions.

Subscriptions to the JRRD are free of charge, and can be obtained at www.vard.org/subscribe. And, the full articles are archived online at www.vard.org in a word-searchable format. Kudos to the United States Department of Veterans Affairs for consistently supporting this publication, and for continued funding of much of the research reported in this journal. I would encourage all clinicians to scan the JRRD on a regular basis, and to read carefully those articles that are most relevant to their patient populations.

All chapters from the Spanish language textbooks on Lower Limb Prosthetics and Orthotics have been posted, and remain available for downloading, along with the classic text from UCLA on Upper Limb Prostheses.

Thanks to the generosity of Sr. Alberto Castillo from Mexico City, the articles in this Corner will now be available in Spanish too. A brief biography is posted, listing just a few of Sr. Castillo's many accomplishments. Additional chapters from the texts on lower limb prosthetics and orthotics that have been translated into Spanish are also available for downloading.

Please feel free to leave your comments and suggestions regarding this information in our guest book . If you would like to be notified by e-mail whenever this corner is updated, please become a registered user of oandp.com .
