Re: Stance Control KAFO Suggestions - Response Summary
Posted By: Brett R. Saunders, CPO, FAAOP on July 27, 2012
Thank you to everyone that replied. A summary of responses is below the original post. Original Post ------------------------------------ I have a patient that is 74" tall 300 pounds in need of a stance control KAFO. Does anyone know a manufacturer of the components that are rated for 300 pounds? The answers I am getting from different reps are that the joint doesn't carry weight so 'it should be ok'. 'It should be ok' does not make me all that comfortable for patient care. Responses ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------- Three different systems were recommended 1) Fillauer SPL2 2) Horton 3) Sensor Walk Fillauer states their SPL2 joint has no weight limit when used in the double sidebar design. Horton has posted a limitation of 275 pounds. Otto Bock has a posted limit of 300 pounds for the Sensor Walk. Thank you again for the tips and information. Brett Description: Brett Business Card |
