Hello everyone,

My name is Linda Lui and I am currently a first-year clinical Prosthetics and Orthotics program at George Brown College in Toronto, Canada. As part of my curriculum, I must do a presentation for my peers, teachers and colleagues about a topic related to P and O. I'm taking this opportunity to learn more about what happens to our amputee patients before they come into our care .

I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to tell me about the their local post-operative care procedures that amputees will receive after a surgery, such as:

- pre-operative preparations required
- the type of dressing used (RRD, SSD, IPOP) and reasons for its choice
- average patient's number of days spent in the hospital before transferring to a rehabilitation centre
- time to initial temporary prosthetic device
- number of prostheses before definitive device
- any other relevant information

>From local resources, I have gathered that these factors can be quite
variable and dependent on the facility, physiatrist, surgeon and prosthetist. By asking you all, I was hoping I would be able learn more about the process itself and observe if there are any trends in post-operative care across different regions of countries or nations.
