Knee joint noise
Posted By: Strelow,Bruce on August 23, 2012
Am requesting ideas from the List serve regarding any creative ways to quiet the knee "extension stop click" which occurs with every step on KAFO being utilized to control Genu recurvatum. I have two patients with the Becker #1008 -Posterior offset joints where the patient is "annoyed" at the audible click at every step as the joints stop (in extension). Have tried Joint covers(to muffle), differing thin materials (eg. Shear ban, etc.). Becker did not have any suggestions to offer. Would appreciate any ideas that have met w/success (however bizarre) and hopefully a simple "fix". Thank you in advance.----------Bruce Bruce Strelow, CPO Sanford Health HealthCare Accessories, 3223 32nd.
