Microprocessor knee for stumble control
Posted By: Michael Shower on June 29, 2012
Colleagues I have a 65 yr. old long standing Knee Disartic., as follows: -has worn a Total Knee 2100 very successfully for as long as it has been on the market (previously the model 2000). - level 2-3 community ambulator (almost exclusively single, 'normal,' speed), until first and ONLY fall ten months ago; the typical scenario of incomplete stepping in a confined area (kitchen). -despite solid PT his insurmountable fear has him stuck as a very tentative calculating slow walker. I would like to put him in a microprocessor knee ONLY for the purpose knee stability, in the hope of regaining his trust in a knee to return him to his previous confident relaxed gait. I think I have narrowed my search two the Endolite Orion or the C-leg. Any experienced input would be greatly appreciated. I will share your suggestions with the LIST. Thank you.
