TD for equipment operator
Posted By: Markus Saufferer on April 16, 2012
Dear List, I have a client who is TR amputee who has been working as a heavy equipment operator, including excavators and bobcats. He has been using both a "locked" TRS Grip prehensor and the OttoBock steel ring terminal. The problem is that there is always a bit of play between the terminal and the joystick control. He has seen somewhere a terminal, much like an inverted tapered cup with fabric or mesh sides that works well for this purpose. It goes over the joystick and locks on securely with no play. Does anyone know if this available commercially or will I have to invent my own? Any other ideas? Markus Saufferer, B.Sc.(Kin), C.P.(c) Motion Prosthetic Nanaimo, BC |
