INTRODUCTION

ACTIVSLEEVE™ is a new suspension device for below-knee prostheses. It is used in a similar manner to other suspension sleeves currently available made of neoprene and latex.

What distinguishes ACTIVSLEEVE™ from other sleeves on the market?
Two things: the unique ribbed design at the top of the sleeve, and the straight tubular design.

The ribbed design allows the sleeve to create a seal around the thigh, therefore producing a suction-type suspension. The ribs are worn against the skin to create the seal. As long as a seal is maintained, ACTIVSLEEVE™ can be worn lower on the thigh than other suspension sleeves.

The tubular design allows each sleeve to be adjusted either up or down on the thigh for a wide variety of thigh sizes and suspension requirements. Even without a knee cut-out design, the range of motion is not restricted compared to other sleeves because the material is stretchable.
