CRITERIUM - CRITERIUM WEDGE - CRITERIUM PIVOT
Features:
- Three models now including the new Criterium Pivot for high performance and greater versatility.
- All models except Pivot available in either of two hardness 70 & 85
- All models snap/pull ON and OFF 1" diameter bicycle handlebars
CRITERIUM is the original, simplest version... easy on and off.
WEDGE version allows for more elbow range of motion and "hand" angle on the handlebars yet it is still a simple one piece polymer construction.
PIVOT version is two piece allowing for much greater range of motion and arm torque with adjustable friction pivot mechanism... higher performance and more difficult to release from the bars.
70 references the hardness or "Durometer" of the polymer material. The 70 model is softer, more flexible and forgiving than the 85 model. The 70 is suggested for beginners and easy street riding while the 85 for more rigorous challenging rides. Criterium are not recommended for aggressive or competitive mountain bike riding.
Handlebars can be taped with various materials to change the friction and force required to engage and disengage the Criteriums.
All models fit right or left and equipped with a standard stainless steel, threaded, coupler.
Offset centerline duplicates normal palm grasping position for improved biomechanics.
Light-weight. Six to Eight ounces (~ 180-210 gms)
"L" CODE: L6704
*Release loads were measured using one inch diameter smooth, bare metal handlebars without any tape covering. The load applied was a straight pulling force. No torque was applied. Tape, foam or fabric coverings will increase the amount of force and torque required to push on and pull off the Criterium bicycle accessory.
*Regular white medical or athletic type adhesive tape will increase the effort required to pull the Criterium off the handlebars by as much as 60-90%.
*Standard cork, vinyl or foam backed bicycle handlebar wrap increases the bar diameter significantly! The result is that it will take approximately 30% more effort to pull the Criterium from the handlebars than when using smooth, bare handlebars.
Two styles. Road bike and mountain bike. Single brake lever operates both front and rear brakes simultaneously for safety and control. Designed to fit standard diameter handlebars. Right or left mount and single-handed operation. Levers only - no brake lines provided. TRS suggests that this brake equipment be installed by a certified bicycle mechanic to ensure proper adjustment. Caution! Front brake should never be adjusted to engage before rear brake with this single-handed brake lever system. Actual brake lever style may vary slightly from photo.
