The ULTRA TRU-ALIGN
UNIVERSAL ALIGNMENT SYSTEM

The Ultra Tru-Align System is versatile tool for aligning prosthetic and orthotic joints. The main features of the fixture include interchangeability among joint types, wide adjustment range and most importantly, the ability to attach the fixture to an alignment stand.

The Ultra Tru-Align System consists of a Main Slide Bar which holds the Couplers and the Attachment Block Receiver. The Main Slide Bar provides width adjustment and together with the Attachment Block Receiver provides an attachment point to an alignment stand. With the complimentary attachment stem the Ultra Tru-Align System can be used either on the V-Tech Vertical Fabricating System or the Hosmer Vertical Alignment Jig. The Couplers are the attachment point to the Main Slide Bar and hold the Hex Aligning Rods. As a mirrored pair, the Couplers can exhange positions on the Main Slide Bar for additional width adjustment. The Couplers provide depth adjustment for the Hex Aligning Rods. The Hex Aligning Rods provided the attachment point for the Aligning Tabs. The hex shape of the Aligning Rods insure stable alignment and can easily be removed and returned without loss of alignment. The Aligning Tabs can be exchanged to accommodate the specific prosthetic or orthotic joints being used. This interchangeability allows the use of one aligning fixture with a multitude ofjoints from various manufacturers. Thus a standard aligning and manufacturing procedure can be used regardless of what type joint is being used.

By attaching the fixture to an alignment stand the practitioner or technician is relieved of the task of holding the device being fabricated. The stand can be used as a reference to alignment as well a holding device. The use of the fixture in conjunction with an alignment stand allows the model (particularly in the case of an orthosis) and the device being fabricated to be held seperately yet in contiguous alignment. By use of a second fixture the knee and ankle joints can be held seperately. Even a third can be added if a hip joint is involved to align all joints along a predetermined alignment path. The fixtures can even be setup and aligned prior to the installation of any components. Once setup, the device being fabricated can be removed from any of several places on the fixture and consistently returned to the original position without loss of alignment. By removing the Aligning Tab Quick-release Pin the device can be removed without disturbing the fixture setup. In the case of an orthosis, by removing one Aligning Tab a single bar can be removed, adjusted, and returned to the setup all without loss of alignment.

The Ultra Tru-Align System provides tremendous flexibility in setup and work process. The fixture provides unique abilites to combine ease of alignment while removing and restoring components without loss of alignment. In addition, the fixtures can be combined to handle diverse products in the same setup. For example, one fixture can be used to hold a prosthetic knee joint and a second fixture can hold a hip joint , different joint types yet the same aligning fixture. Thus the fixture can simplif~ setup as well as the manufacturing process, truly a Universal Alignment System.
