Nearly 100 attendees and exhibitors from 14 U.S. states and Canada gathered at the Salt Palace Convention Center, Salt Lake City, Utah, for PrimeCare O&P Network's western scientific symposium. Held February 17-19, PrimeFare West included an assortment of educational offerings presented by some of the industry's most distinguished leaders.

This year's seminar featured a new format that opened up free time for skiing, sightseeing, or customer contact. This year's educational sessions were retooled as well—sessions were smaller and more interactive, focusing on hands-on learning opportunities and audience-initiated discussion of patient issues.

Gary Tremblay, RTPO, Troppman Prosthetics, traveled from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, to attend PrimeFare West. "I am very glad I did," he said. "It was a great show, and I can't wait to go to Nashville."

When asked about the quality of the pedorthic education, Ron Marler, CPed, 2nd Sole Custom Shoes & Orthotics, Paradise, California, said, "PrimeFare had some of the best pedorthic education I have ever attended."

Exhibitors also expressed their enthusiasm for the quality of the business contacts they were able to make at the meeting.

While the seminar's proximity is attractive to guests from the western region, some travelled from as far as Alaska to take advantage of what PrimeCare O&P Network President Catherine Pruitt identifies as the "exceptional offerings" the PrimeFare seminars traditionally bring together for the benefit of O&P practitioners, technicians, pedorthists, and business owners in search of continuing education credits.

The PrimeFare East seminar is slated to take place June 3-4 at the Nashville Convention Center, Tennessee. The next PrimeFare West seminar is scheduled to take place in February 2012.
