The most important enhancement to Delcam’s OrthoModel is its ability to create a library of 3D metatarsal pads and metatarsal dome models that can be wrapped onto the foot orthotic to complete the design. Eliminating the need to create a new shape for every patient expedites the soft orthotics design process. In addition, Delcam’s OrthoMill has the ability to increase production because the software can program multiple blocks of material on a machine with differing densities. This is important for manufacturers using EVA or polyurethane materials.
