Welcome to the intersection of orthotics and prosthetics in cyberspace!
This month's Corner features the first of a series of reports from the Academy Annual Meeting in Orlando, highlighting some of the more interesting orthotic advances. It also comments on blatant misrepresentation of Medicare opinions by a company who peddles "rag braces" directly to hospitals. Additional chapters from the Spanish language textbooks are also now available for downloading.
Future Corners will look at some of the prosthetic innovations that debuted at the Academy meeting, and summarize some of the key scientific presentations.
Thanks to the generosity of Sr. Alberto Castillo from Mexico City, the articles in this Corner will now be available in Spanish too. A brief biography is posted, listing just a few of Sr. Castillo's many accomplishments. Additional chapters from the texts on lower limb prosthetics and orthotics that have been translated into Spanish are also available for downloading.
