Fred passed away last Thursday from Diabetes and Heart disease. Fred graduated in 1978 with a BS in Orthotics and Prosthetics from the University of Washington School of Rehabilitation Medicine. He had been practicing in the Tacoma and Seattle areas since starting his first business in Tacoma in 1979. In 1995, he started Preferred Orthotic and Prosthetic Services with clinics in Tacoma and Federal Way, WA. Fred was, at times, an excellent clinician, and he provided all levels of prosthetic care, as well as specializing in the orthotic treatment of Scoliosis. He also served as an examiner and committee member for the Prosthetic and Orthotic national board exams. Fred had a loyal following of patients from all over the Pacific Northwest and beyond. His post graduate courses included several scoliosis treatment courses, as well as the Otto Bock C Leg course, the Harmony vacuum assisted socket course, and many others. Fred treated patients with diverse needs, including pediatric, diabetic, vascular and traumatic situations. He had many friends in the profession as well as in the local medical community. He was 62 years old. Karl Entenmann, CPO Vice President Preferred Orthotic and Prosthetic Services Tacoma and Federal Way, WA |
