vending machines
Posted By: nmj4354 on May 19, 2010
Hi all, Has anyone heard or know anything about braces being dispensed from a vending machine in a hospital? Apparently the way it works is similar to the closet stock idea, the vendor puts the me chine in the hospital (with all approvals done) and when a brace is ordered by a dr, if it is something that the machine carries, the patient ID is entered and brace is dispenced. The information is transferred to vendor who then bills for the brace. I do not know if can be outpatient or must be inpatient.. There is supposedly a O&P company trying this. Thanks for any input.
