ICD 10 Codes
Posted By: Melissa A. Bolton, Admin. Dept. on April 28, 2015
Our office is in the process of updating our computer system to contain the ICD 10 codes which will be necessary to use as of 10/1/15. As I am trying to accurately convert the ICD9 codes to ICD10 codes, I am uncertain if I am truly picking the correct code to be used. Can anyone give me some input on the best ways you have found to accurately determine the correct ICD10 code to crossover to as well as how specific you are going as far as the code which indicates side....such as Z89.519 is acquired absence of unspecified leg below knee, Z89.511 is Acquired absence of right leg below knee and Z89.512 is Acquired absence of left leg below knee. Also as far as initial encounter, subsequent encounter, or sequela....these are confusing to me as well. As a prosthetic and orthotic provider, which would we fall under? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Melissa Bolton Funding Assistant |
