Looking for Healthcare Professional in Queensland, Australia, Using the Kenny Method for Post-Polio
Posted By: Miki Fairley on October 12, 2016
Hello, all. I received an email from a reader regarding an article I wrote in 2008 for *The O&P EDGE* on Sister Kenny, an Australian nurse who developed a ground-breaking treatment for polio sufferers, many of whom are now dealing with post-polio syndrome (PPS). The reader was being treated by a practitioner of the Kenny method, including her massage technique, but the practitioner is no longer living. He's having considerable difficulty in finding someone else. Does anyone know of any healthcare professionals in Queensland, Australia, who still practice the Kenny method or some of her techniques, including massage, or incorporate some of them in their treatment methods?
